frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral from my physician for physical therapy?

No. A referral is not needed for physical therapy services at Wave Physical Therapy. Massachusetts is a direct access state which means patients have unrestricted access without restrictions or limitations for treatment absent a referral.

If it is determined by our physical therapist that proper care is beyond the scope of  physical therapy, we will refer you to an appropriate licensed healthcare practitioner.

Do you take my health insurance?

Wave Physical Therapy does not contract with health insurance companies and is an out-of-network provider. Although payment is required at the time of your visit, we can provide you with an invoice that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Many patients with out-of-network benefits will be reimbursed a percentage of the cost of physical therapy.

Why chose an out-of-network provider?

As an out-of-network provider, Wave Physical Therapy is able to provide full access and individualized care that is not limited or dictated by health insurance. Every body and injury is unique and should require 1-on-1 quality care by a licensed and experienced PT. This is what you can expect at Wave Physical Therapy.

Do you take Medicare?

We do not accept Medicare and any supplemental insurance to Medicare plans.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Wave Physical Therapy accepts all major credit cards, FSA/HSA cards, check and cash.

Why should I chose Wave Physical Therapy?

At Wave Physical Therapy you can expect 1-on-1 quality care provided by an experienced physical therapist who can help you get to the root of your injury safely and naturally so you can return to the activities, workouts and sports that you love.
